The functional properties of any molecule are directly related to, and affected by, its structure. This is especially true for DNA, the molecular that carries the code for all life on earth. The third edition of Understanding DNA has been entirely revised and updated, and expanded to cover new advances in our understanding. It explains, step by step, how DNA forms specific structures, the nature of these structures and how they fundamentally affect the biological processes of transcription and replication.Written in a clear, concise and lively fashion, Understandin Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

None of that stuff about genes, expression, operons and so on. This was about the physical properties of the DNA molecule: how and why it curls, what methylation is chemically, things like that.
Obviously the details of this stuff don't much matter to me, and there were some parts that were a hard slog and that I skipped over. But, all in all, it was an interesting and worthwhile read; not too hard to understand, and very interesting to see a different side of DNA science. ( )
