An amusing story is paired with humorous, cartoon-style artwork in Moo Moo in a Tutu, the first of two picture-books (thus far) featuring these oddball friends. The format here, in which the story is driven by the back-and-forth dialogue between Moo Moo and Mr. Quackers, reminded me of the Elephant and Piggie series from Mo Willems, or Jory John and Benji Davies' Bear and Duck books. Like those titles, this one would make for an entertaining read-aloud selection at story-time, especially if the storyteller is good at using different voices for the different characters. Recommended to young children who enjoy friendship stories with a rather silly sense of humor. ( )
