Andy Capp does not work and lives off his wife's Flo hard work and his National Security Check. He loves his drink and football and has a contentious relationship with his wife. And through all their flaws and episodes they keep their marriage together. Instead of and domestic violence these strips are written in the time when the couple have started going to marriage guidance. Though neither of these scenes are in this compilation. ( ) I really enjoy the twisted world of Andy Capp. The hard-drinking, soccer-playing, skirt-chasing lazy little rascal is appealing, although I don't understand where his life comes from. Why does Flo put up with so much from him? Why does Percy never toss him out on his backside for not paying the rent? Yet, Andy moves on through life, out at the pub each night, stumbling home late past Flo doing her housecleaning before she gets up to work in the morning, so she can spot him a few bob for the next night's drinking. Many of the earlier books showed some serious fights and very abusive behavior from Andy; none such in this one. I suppose as long as Flo and Andy are happy in the life they've chosen, it's not my issue. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
