Glad to be finished with this series. Took me over a year to read, because sometimes the books just dragged on and I needed a break in between. I almost feel like I'm being generous giving this a 4, because this too dragged on after a bit, and frankly I was hugely disappointed in some aspects of it (but since this is YA, I guess that was the best I was going to get on THAT particular matter--yes, I'm being evasive, spoilers, you know, heh). The epilogue was needlessly trivial and wordy, could have been cut down by half.

It's not to say I didn't enjoy this series as a whole though, because I did. I enjoyed "watching" Viggo and Violet's relationship transform, etc., etc. Overall, it did have it's good and bad parts, and there's almost this twisted fascination when you compare how things are today (gender inequality, the metoo movement, etc) and you wonder, could this happen to our society in the future? ( )

This was my favorite book in the series by far. It had less fighting, tied up a lot of loose ends, and, of course, there were a couple weddings. The best part was that it focused on different dystopias and structures, which is what attracted me to the series in the first place. Violet and Viggo's romance also was a nice point. ( )
