I found it to be a fun read and so much superhero and creativity love. I really enjoyed both POV and loved how both characters were dealing with self discovery issues as well! I would rec. this read i you like geekerella! I thought the book followed a pretty "normal" plot path but was a fun read. I was equally invested in both POV. It also addressed life topics like changing friends group, passion and leaving home for college. I found this to a be quick read but very fun! 3.5. I've been a Faith Erin Hicks fan since forever, so reading her debut prose novel was a treat. The romance didn't totally gel for me (and in general I wanted a little more from the male lead), but I enjoyed this book's emotional honesty, humor, and poignant evocation of a small town in the Canadian Maritimes. And the prose is damn good! “THATS IT YOUR MOVING IN WITH YOU AUNT AND UNCLE” The problem in the book is that Miriam and Weldons grandparents had a court case over a comic book way back. Miriam and Weldon did not know about the conflict between their family members until they got closer with each other and both started to gain feelings for each other but didn't want to show or say it. As the novel went on Miriam and Weldon started to show their feelings for each other after Stella invited Weldon over for dinner with her and the rest of the Kedricks. The main characters in “comics can break your heart” are Miriam,Weldon, Stella(Miriam's mom) , Henry(family to Miriam) and Weldons aunt and uncle. The protagonist in the novel is Weldons aunt, the antagonist is Stella. Miriam is the main character the novel focuses on, Miriam is a young girl who wants to go to college and takes higher classes than all of her friends. Miriam works at a little store in town. Weldon is the other person the novel fouses on, Weldon is a young guy who had to move with his aunt because of bad choices he made in his hometown. The book's theme is change. I think that change is the theme because everything and everyone in the novel changes somehow. The author makes the book have lots of changes some good some bad. Dealing with this change might be very hard but could help the charcters realize not everything is going to be given to them. I recommend this novel because it was very interesting and suspenseful but the chapters got confusing sometimes,so if you like suspenseful books you would like the novel “Comics can break your heart”. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Miriam's family should be rich. After all, her grandfather was the co-creator of smash-hit comics series The TomorrowMen. But he sold his rights to the series to his co-creator in the 1960s for practically nothing, and now that's what Miriam has: practically nothing. And practically nothing to look forward to either-how can she afford college when her family can barely keep a roof above their heads? As if she didn't have enough to worry about, Miriam's life gets much more complicated when a cute boy shows up in town . . . and turns out to be the grandson of the man who defrauded Miriam's grandfather, and heir to the TomorrowMen fortune.
