I thought I would use this with my homeschool children because it will help young children develop oral communication and listening skills. I am not sure it is a good fit for our family though. May be better suited for a different context.Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. So excited to get this book. Can't wait to get started with my kiddos. It hits all levels of readers. Chopped full of ideas. Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. This book is fantastic. I enjoy using Jacob's Ladder activities with my older kids and this is a great start for the younger grades. The questioning will stretch and they have included great literature and poems for the activities.Good Job. Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. This program is a great find. I was impressed by the depth of the questions posed to children as young as five. The ability of children to comprehend deeper meanings is so often underestimated by adults (and perhaps especially, educators). I adore the fact that the program uses children's literature in its original form, not chopped up bits of this and that. All in all, I wish that I was introduced to a program like this as a child so that I might have begun to understand the analysis of literature far earlier. Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. Great thinking questions for early schoolers. Yes, you need the original books to read with the children, but all the better. These are classic books (authors like Maurice Sendak, Mercer Mayer, Steven Kellogg, Aesop, etc). These are DEEP questions, and you may have to define some of the words to your children ("confrontation" for example). The questions are similar to comprehension questions in High School readers. Don't worry, your kids will have answers. I'm planning on going through this with my kids and having fun with it. The Jacob's Ladder Reading Comprehension Program targets reading comprehension skills in learners by moving students through an inquiry process from basic understanding to critical analyses of texts using a field-tested method developed by the Center for Gifted Education at The College of William and Mary. Students in grades K-8 will learn to comprehend and analyze any reading passage after completing the activities in this series. The Primary 1 book, geared for students in grades K-1, includes stories and ladder tasks carefully selected for young children to develop oral communication and listening skills in addition to the other ladder goals. This level provide stories focused on picture analysis, read alouds, classics, and original works. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
