Loved the fact it gave you information on the different species throughout the book. Took a while to get into it but overall I enjoyed it. ( ) The Doctor doesn't like zoos. So because Martha wants to see some wildlife, she asks to be taken to a time when the dodos were still alive. From there, they become embroiled in an adventure involving a universe-spanning museum that preserves the last specimens of every species. But hang on, isn't the Doctor the last of HIS species too?? He might want to watch out... Overall, I enjoyed this book, and having the audio version made it especially fun. Freema Agyeman is of course the perfect choice to narrate an adventure featuring Martha, and she evidently has lots of fun doing her Tenth Doctor impression (especially when he goes “Weeeellllll...” or does his ramble-muttering). The story was pretty good, too, touching as it does on the theme of the Doctor being the last of his kind and our responsibility to protect our own native species from dying out. Recommended for those who want more Martha or Tenth Doctor adventures. Rating: 4 stars total. 3 stars for the story itself, and an extra star for Freema's narration. This book had an interesting premise, and the potential for a great ethical dilemma for the Doctor and Martha to face. Unfortunately, the characters felt a bit off throughout the whole book, and the writing was inconsistent. The morals rang a bit hollow, and it ended up with less substance than I hoped. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
