The story of a celebrity family headed by a previous wild man actor and a famous female celebrity chef. Hmm wonder what Delilah is similar to..? Famous name matching became quite a game... including a female green fingered celebrity. They have 3 very spoilt but endearing adult daughters and the book follows all their lives loves and careers whilst their dad makes a comeback film and their mum becomes 50 and deals with some life changing events. Aided by lots of staff especially Polly Delilah's PA and Tony the family publicist/PR person.
Veronica uses much of her TV production experience in the book and I think she has an especial fondness for dogs as at one point Doug the Pug is the only one I don't feel like I want to scream at . Animal welfare must also be a big concern to her as there is a couple of parts which were almost unbearable to read. Fair play to her for highlighting a big problem. This plays quite a big part in the book...it distracted me at times as I was gearing myself up for the reveal. It serves to be quite an eye opener on a couple of the characters and a knitting together of their stories...probably even more than The Birthday Party!
Frustration aside a few chapters to go and I couldn't put it down.
I've knocked off half a point for the language which at times was a bit too..lazy? and for the ending. ( )
