She's Got Books on Her Mind

Poor Bear. All he wants to do is get home. But he keeps on stumbling, tripping, and falling into other people's homes. He has only his mother's words to guide him except he can't seem to remember them... As he continues to stumble, trip, and fall he slowly remembers his mother's words and figures out where he truly belongs.

One word: Adorable! I don't think I've ever reacted this well while reading a picture book. I wanted bear to figure out the riddle so badly! He was falling all over the place and in my mind I was like "Bear, you can do it! Don't give up!" I can only imagine the joy this book will bring to kids especially when Bear finally figures out the riddle. Plus Scully gave us a little surprise at the end that I just adore.

I loved the illustrations. They have texture and emotion to them. I feel like kids could really connect to what bear was going through by the way Scully was able to tell bear's story and express them with wonderful artwork.

The moral of this book was also a big part of what was great about this story. It says to kid's no matter how many times you fall or get discouraged just keep going and you can achieve anything. Children books that encourage kids are always the best ones.

Overall: Wonderful illustrations and storytelling. I couldn't recommend it enough! ( )
