Four hippies returning from the Isle of Wight Festival decide that "the man" is taking over the free festival movement. Camping on some private land they fall in with aristo owner, Rafe who only lives on the grounds at the weekend. Allowing them to stay if they help repainting the estate mansion, the hippies instead turn their hand to organising a festival on the grounds - a festival "by heads for the heads". Written and directed by sex comedy veteran Stanley Long, the film is light on plot and fairly episodic in its construction. It's nicely shot and combines camp silliness and light comedy with plentiful nudity and some lightweight simulated sex. The hippies are viewed through the lens of the straight world so plenty of anachronistic dialogue and situations, which instead of being distracting and off-putting it gives the film a real ironic charm. It is the musical performances, however, that are the real highlights with some great fuzzy blues jams from the great Juicy Lucy (featuring a young Micky Moody on guitar). Groovy man!
