I got a lot out of this, even though I have no intention or ability to retire early. What I do plan on using is the info for ways I can invest now for my later years especially as I’m already considered old for actually starting to save.

Though I would love to hear from single people who make under six figures like me as I have a feeling there’s not a lot who have retired early; this definitely seems to be a group made up of couples where each made well over six figures hence have the means for extensive savings and ability to get out of the work world before age forty. nonfiction; retirement savings advice (how to finance various stages of retirement)
I skimmed through this to pull out the parts of interest (navigating health care choices and managing various investment and other income sources--thankfully, there is an index!) and found it generally helpful. You could probably get as much out of reading their blog regularly, but this will walk you through all of the basics, including how to figure out how to spend your time when you are retired. ( )

This isn't a finance book or a memoir. Having read Tanja's blog for the last few years, I couldn't wait to see what she'd focus on. The result? A guidebook for how to retire early by following your own path. This one challenges you with questions, activities and thought provoking questions that help determine what could be your idealistic future. Much of the financial side may be old-hat if you read blogs or books in the FIRE community, but it's sprinkled with facts and data to help highlight the pitfalls common to lifestyle change. As someone who recently left their job, much of the vision casting and future focused questions were useful for reflecting on what I really want to do next, while getting another persons take on their first year after working. This is an easy book to read. While most of the information can be found elsewhere and I have been doing much as it is, I did like the information on healthcare, investment options and passive income. I was able to read this quickly and absorb some more in my quest for early retirement. But mostly this is a book for those younger and struggling in their decisions to prepare and save for an early retirement. It is all about one’s mindset. ( )
