Note: I accessed a digital review copy of this book through Edelweiss. ( ) A bunch of anthropomorphic animals drive around in their distinctive cars. This is a very basic beginning readers book. Each page is simply an animal saying "I like my ____ car," with the blanks being filled by different colors. Even though there is no story to speak of, I thought this was a much better option than some other books in this "I Like to Read" line. Having the different colors at least adds some learning to this book. The various animals depicted also allow adults to stop and ask questions about what species are seen, what noises they make, etc. It's also just a little silly seeing all these big animals zooming around in relatively small cars. Earliest readers will appreciate trying out their reading skills on a book that won't easily frustrate them; very little listeners will appreciate a short book that doesn't tax their shorter attention spans. I would have definitely used this book in my classroom back when I was a toddler teacher. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
