Seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, meet at Lake Tahoe's El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past. Over the course of one fateful night, everyone will have a last shot at redemption; before everything goes to hell.
Just a wonderfully crafted film. It's funny, memorable, and tense as all get-out. The pace might be a bit uneven and (on occasion) slow for some, but I thought it worked great -- the film has rightly been called Tarantino-esque, so if you feel Tarantino's films tend to be overlong, you likely will here too, but if not, this is certainly no slower. If anything, I frequently wished the plot wouldn't keep thundering on, so that character pairings and moments from the beginning of the movie could be revisited a few more times before it was all over.
