The poems in this book are all about animals and a lot of them are funny. Each poem is different some are long and some are short, some rhyme and some don’t. Some of the poems were informational while being funny like this line from a poem called “The Pretenders” it said “The raccoon wears a mask a robber’s mask there’s no mistaking” it’s informational because it shows that raccoons have black fur across their face and eyes. ( ) This book is one hundred percent right up my alley. The poems were so adorable and witty. I loved almost every poem and again I liked how the author chose to put a table on contents inside. I also enjoyed the way the illustrator gave each character such personality. For example, the menacing look of the hornet after it has stung a little boy. All of the poems in this book are written about animals including: hippos, owls, toads, turtles, raccoons, opossums, rabbits, foxes, dogs, cats, pigs, birds, hawks, worms, crocodiles, crickets, bullfrogs, snakes, moths, wolves, lizards, giraffes, and porcupines. The illustrations in the book depict the poem about each animal. One poem, “Tic-Tac-Toad,” contains alliteration. Many of the poems in this book contain rhyming words. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
