"For years many people refused to believe that human trafficking was happening here in innocent safe Canada to our very own Canadian girls. But they were wrong! This is one of many stories that will unmask the truth and tragedy of human trafficking that turns young girls into sex slaves right here in our own country. This is the true story of a 15 year old Canadian girl who was lured into human trafficking by a guy she met on an online service. This new friend eventually takes over her life and she is forced to travel across Canada as a sex slave for him. But a former teacher turned Member of Parliament births a plan to rescue her, and at the same time takes on the monumental task of making the people and the Government of Canada aware of the extent of human trafficking here. After much work and many battles she was able to see a bill passed bringing human traffickers to justice. This is their true Canadian story."--… (meer)

Although not labelled as a Christian book, there is a small faith component to this book. Emotionally, it can be a challenging read as it is hard to believe that this is actually happening in our own dear country and often not far from our very own doorsteps.
