Onderdeel van de reeks(en)
Acting reckless isn't something Bentley Wilson is known for, but when he runs back into a burning building to save a little girl's puppy after specifically told not to do so, that's exactly how most of the townsfolk sees him, especially the fire chief who insists he has to help with the annual Christmas party because of his behavior. Throw in the fact the woman he pined over for too long is getting married, this holiday is going to go down as one of the worst. Until he meets Emma Brookes. She's feisty, headstrong, and holds so much pain hidden in the depths of her beautiful green eyes. He wants nothing more than to erase her sadness. But it's already a season of disaster, and every time they're together, they spar like two warriors dueling to the death. Despite that, he likes the challenge, the crazy way she makes him feel. Before the holiday is up, he vows to get his one Christmas wish. That she never leaves his side. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

I do love that sweet cover that Amanda designed herself.
The family had lost everything, but Mulberry people are the best. They will turn their frowns upside down, making it a Merry Christmas. His, not so much. He let HER get away.
Okay, now my mind;s working and I already plotted the ending. I just can’t help myself. Being predictable doesn’t bother me, it’s all about the journey.
Emma and Bentley, literally, bump into each other. I love Bentley’s thoughts the first time he meets and talks to her. And the thoughts he has…though he doesn’t go for sassy women. He likes them soft and cuddly. Emma also likes to play practical jokes. I am not one of those people. but knowing Amanda like I do, I look forward to seeing what she comes up with.
I enjoyed their verbal foreplay. It is fun and uplifting, which they both need. They sound like a couple of teenagers. It reminds me of me and Mr Wonderful. Neither one realizes, or at least wants to admits it, but they’re interested.
AHA!
Bentley is becoming a grownup, emotionally. He’s so cute and sweet. Emma’s hard as nails and I am lovin’ her, well, him too, the more I get to know him. I love when he meets her parents.
Amanda Siegrist’s writing is so good, she can take a romance and make me love it as much as my thrillers with the dead bodies everywhere and danger around every corner. The only danger here is heartbreak. I am fully invested in the characters outcome from their first meeting.
A hot chocolate martini? I’ll have one please.
Had me cracking up as ‘we’ sit at the bar drinking.
It was easy for me to like the characters and their story that has a ring of truth. No insta love, just slow burning attraction they slowly give into. Predictable, yet so sweet I love it.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Christmas Wish by Amanda Siegrist.
