In this case Tynan, the Earl of Westcliff comes to the aid of a young women who is in danger of being accosted by some drunks. Tynan has already started the process of tiring of the drinking, gambling and womanizing. When he finds a reason to help someone else he steps up to the plate.
Both Tynan and Abby are well written characters. Abby is struggling with trying to help her brother with his opium addiction. This is something out of the ordinary in a romance novel but adds to the story.
As the two work to help her brother, Peter, they come to fall in love and both grow and mature as characters. By the time it comes, you can't help but celebrate the Happily Ever After with them. (
