This was the most frustrating book in this series so far! I hated what Snow and Jude had to go through because of Jordan’s naivety and his need to feel like an ‘adult.’ What happened to him was horrible, yeah, and I’m glad that the vile scumbag responsible for it all paid for the sick things he’d done (loved seeing the guys in action again!), but Jordan was the one who went looking for trouble! He has such a great, loving family, and he couldn’t ask them for help because it’d hurt his pride? Stupid decisions like that make me so freaking mad!! geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Onderdeel van de reeks(en)
After three years, Snow and Jude's relationship is still passionate and strong. They're getting ready for a romantic vacation at home when Jude receives a horrifying call no one wants to receive. His youngest brother was found barely clinging to life. While Jude's family is rallying around Jordan, Jude is determined to find out what happened to him.Snow and Jude follow the clues, investigating a side of Jordan's life none of them knew about...and is far darker than any would have believed possible. They get pulled deeper into the seedy side of life, while echoes from a past Snow thought he walked away from return to offer an unexpected insight into the cause of Jordan's injuries. But someone else has noticed their involvement and is furious, putting them both in danger. The risk is high but so is Jude's determination to find the truth-though the knowledge could very well fracture his heart.Trigger Warning: This book has a scene that some might find triggering, but the triggers are also spoilers to the plot, so they can be found at the front of the book. Rating due exclusively to our recurrent characters, as I find the mystery side development very poor
Then we have ends that more than loose, seem forgotten; for example, there is no mention of what happened to the rapist and his allegations of consensuality once Jordan woke up.
The icing on the cake? An almost ridiculous villain that, in a minute, go from a logical reason like ambition to madness and stupid attitudes, like confronting a significant number of opponents instead of trying to escape, and carrying on that confrontation even more foolishly.
I'm disappointed to find something so weak in one of my all time fav series. (
