This was a gentle, inoffensive drive for me when I read it all those years ago. A slightly different travelogue to those I'm used to, as Sean would cut away from the "action" to give his ratings on different types of hair product, as well as other musings. "Sean and David's Long Drive" was quite the popular book when it was first released, at least in the university student circles I travelled in, which, in retrospect, I think was due more to the thought that if Condon could get a book deal for just driving around and the resultant manuscript, then anyone could, rather than any specific writing quality. Condon has written a few other books, some of which I have read and, with all of them, I think Condon promises more than he could deliver. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Sean and David set out to discover their homeland and end up driving across half the continent. Sean Condon has written a hilarious, offbeat road book full of insight, humour, and outright lies. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

Positive note: made me realize that driving through the Outback is kind of like driving through the Great Plains - monotonously beautiful and filled with tiny crappy towns. We are now flying into the Outback... (
