Mentioned in a blog post at https://booksbeyondbinaries.blog/2020/07/20/chapter-books-whats-good/ (July 20th release) Recommended Ages: Gr. 2-3 Plot Summary: Sadiq loves space and is thrilled when his school announces a field trip to an observatory. Sadiq is not happy that his dad is leaving for a business trip. Sadiq starts a space club at school with the hopes of earning enough money to buy a telescope to see the stars whenever they want. Setting: city -- too much light pollution to see the stars easily Characters: Sadiq Recurring Themes: family, space, science, Controversial Issues: none Personal Thoughts: I love that this book features a Muslim family from Somalia but that is not the main idea of the story. I think the book is well written, but perhaps a bit forgettable. Genre: realistic fiction Pacing: Characters: Frame: Storyline: Activity: geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
