Great slice of mid-'80s Ozploitation that has a thin, revenge-driven plot but plenty of tremendous, relentless action. The story sees outback animal sanctuary warden Jessica (Cassandra Delaney) being menaced by a group of three drunken, kangaroo poachers. A game of tit-for-tat develops between Jessica and the poachers and when she's pushed too far she takes savage vengeance. Director Mario Andreacchio shoots the action with plenty of cartoonish violence and some excellent, exciting set-pieces. The story is non-stop with a good mix of road stunts and general destructive carnage. David Sandford as the risk-taking Ringo is great fun jumping from speeding vehicles and leaping around the roof of Jessica's house as it is progressively destroyed underneath him. Andrew Lesnie provides some great photography with some colourful shots of the Australian outback. The beautiful Cassandra Delaney is great as the heroine - sympathetic, gritty and highly resourceful. The three goons played by Peter Ford, David Sandford and Gary Who are cartoonish hooligans with zero depth to their characters, but at the same time they work well for the action-orientation of the material. "Fair Game" is no brain-challenger, but it is a great, fun, adrenaline-driven and inventive outback revenger. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
