Afterward by author This book could work for primary or intermediate grades. It is a book talking about being the best version of yourself, and how to treat others, and working for your dreams. I would definitely use this book for a read aloud and then keep it in my classroom book rotation so that it is available for students to read whenever they want. There's more to being a boy than sports, feats of daring, and keeping a stiff upper lip. A Boy Like You encourages every boy to embrace all the things that make him unique, to be brave and ask for help, to tell his own story and listen to the stories of those around him. In an age when boys are expected to fit into a particular mold, this book celebrates all the wonderful ways to be a boy. Review by Goodreads https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/43662693-a-boy-like-you?ac=1&from_search... This book tries to combat toxic masculinity and show little boys that it okay to feel things. It teaches not to use phrases like “you throw like a girl” as an insult and show them they don’t need to pretend to be okay if they’re not. I believe this would be a really good book for young boys because it can teach them to become more in touch with their emotions from a young age. A lot of boys grow up and feel really alone because they’ve been taught that they need to be strong all the time and don’t feel like they can tell people when they don’t. I like how this book is trying to prevent those feelings in future generations and change them for the better. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
