( ) Kneading You is the first story in, ‘A Lancaster Story’ series. It stars Christopher Hughes, and Miles Sakasai, a repairman. The story is told in first person from Christopher’s pov. The plot is simple. Christopher is new in Lancaster. Lancaster is a small town and Christopher has only been able to find low level jobs. When the librarian position at the old library opens up, he jumps on it. Problem is, there isn’t much funding and someone has plans to tear it down and turn the location into a mall. With the help of Miles, the handyman helping to restore the library, Christopher tries to save the place. This book is a short story and the events happen quickly. I’d say the plot is more like basic notes with events jumping from one to the next with a bit of information to flesh them out. It’s a cute enough story that I wish it would’ve been longer. The author did a good job of creating characters that I could believe in as a couple despite the short length. Christopher has an optimistic type of personality and he sees the potential in the library. Miles is quieter, and has many hidden talents besides being a handyman. He also has lots of tattoos which Christopher likes. Since the only pov we get is from Christopher, it’s more difficult to tell what kind of personality Miles has. The two men seem suited to each other though. Kneading You is a quick, fluffy story, perfect to read when you want something light or to take a break after a longer book. I give it, 3 Stars. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Christopher Hughes is new to the small New England town of Lancaster, New Hampshire. He's been hired to save an old library from closing, but his obstacles include not only fighting for state funding, but a Selectman who wants to tear the building down in favor of a shopping center. Christopher is introduced to Miles Sakasai, a charming tattooed repairman on site to restore the historical interior of the building. Working in close proximity has both men falling hard for each other. It also provides Christopher with an opportunity to learn about Miles's passion for baking. And as it turns out, Miles's skills in the kitchen may end up being the key to saving the library—but only if his bread can rise to the occasion. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
