Cute though kind of forgettable. A young lady and her Aunt Celia are touring the great cathedrals of Britain. It is supposed to be a mentally improving trip for Kitty, and she dutifully journalises about their sightseeing. A young man, Jack, happens one day to be in a cathedral at the same time as them. When Aunt Celia's handbag falls to the floor and lets all its contents escape, Jack is quick to help Kitty pick up everything. They don't introduce themselves at all, but Jack is very taken by Kitty. Later he finds that there was one thing that they both overlooked that had fallen out of the bag: a list of all the cathedrals the two women plan to visit. Jack can now model his own trip after theirs, coincidentally bumping into them at nearly every stop.
These two witty characters take turns narrating the story through their journals. It's pleasant. No big conflict, prides, or prejudices. ( )
