This was really, really cute. I thought about giving this 5 stars but it didn't quite get there for me but I did like it a lot.

I can usually tell if a duel perspective is poorly done if I keeping having to go back and look to see who is talking. That was not an issue with this book. Both Cole and Ren felt like very distinct and realistic characters. Their voices carried over between their dating app personas and their real life interactions, which I liked. At times Ren seemed a little younger than he really was. I was surprised to read that he was 35 because for most of the book I thought he was in his 20s but that was probably just me overestimating the age gap.

I was never frustrated with the fact that they didn't know that they were also talking to each other online. Sometimes with these types of plots, I think the author drags on the conflict for too long and I don't understand how they haven't figured it out yet. In this book, the first time I was thinking that they had to have figured it out because it was so obvious, they did realize that they had a relationship online as well. It happened earlier than I expected but I was happy about that.

I really liked how distinctive all of the other characters were. Obviously, it seems like Cole's co-workers will be the subject of other books, but I liked how well developed they were in this book. It made me excited to read more about them in the future.

I would definitely pick up more books in this series and I had a really good time with this one. Glad that the reviews I read were right about this book being really good! ( )

[4.75] Suuuuuuper hot, like being thrown and locked in a steam room. If I had to say why I lowered my rating to .75, I'd say this was almost a little too oversexed for my tastes XD But the trope of two people, unbeknownst to either of them, simultaneously connecting in person and online (in this case, hooking up irl while chatting/bonding on a hook-up app sans knowledge that these interactions have been with the same person all along) created the right amount of inner conflict (in a not-real love triangle kind of way) and won me over :)

Portraying this already bizarre situation realistically enough to keep the reader engaged is an obvious challenge, but I was impressed by how well executed it turned out. The buildup to the big "Caulky" and "Rebound" reveal had me holding my breath in anticipation! ( )

Caulky fits!

I like Ren and Cole. I really like how their story winds together and how all the threads tie up in the end. I can't wait for more from this wirkd. ( )

Rounded up from 3.5 stars. I liked the first half a lot, but the last quarter of the book was too low-stakes for me. I kept waiting for some conflict of some kind to keep me engaged. When none materialized, I found myself skimming the last few chapters, bored. It feels very strange to have been interested in a book the whole way through, and then bored with the resolution. ( )

Oh my! These guys were red-hot scorching together! Plus some (meant to be) laugh-out-loud funny moments. Thoroughly enjoyed this book! ( )

To my amazing PA Abbie Nicole, and the fantastic Neve Wilder for talking me off the ledge when I wanted to completely scrap this book and start from scratch. Ren and Cole thank you, as does my sanity, and I’m sure all of the people who are about to read this book as well.
