Now That I've Found You is a YA novel about searching for answers, love, and your eccentric grandma in all the wrong places. Following in the footsteps of her überfamous grandma, eighteen-year-old Evie Jones is poised to be Hollywood's next big star. That is until a close friend's betrayal leads to her being blacklisted ... Fortunately, Evie knows just the thing to save her floundering career: a public appearance with America's most beloved actress-her grandma Gigi, aka the Evelyn Conaway. The only problem? Gigi is a recluse who's been out of the limelight for almost twenty years. Days before Evie plans to present her grandma with an honorary award in front of Hollywood's elite, Gigi does the unthinkable: she disappears. With time running out and her comeback on the line, Evie reluctantly enlists the help of the last person to see Gigi before she vanished: Milo Williams, a cute musician Evie isn't sure she can trust. As Evie and Milo conduct a wild manhunt across New York City, romance and adventure abound while Evie makes some surprising discoveries about her grandma-and herself. 2.5 stars. I just didn't connect with this one. I didn't remember it was YA when it popped up from my library holds. ( )

A really fun lighthearted read. The story isn't too serious, it instead is a breezy book that was easy to get through. Just an enjoyable time. ( )

between 2 and 2.5 stars. i am not generally a fan of the starlet hollywood setting, so it probably would have taken a lot for me to really get into this. i just don't care about that world, and i find the characters in it largely annoying. that was true here; evie wasn't someone i cared to learn much about, and i didn't want to be in her head. that said, i did like milo (and was glad to have a reason for him to want to hang out with her, because i didn't really believe that he would at first since she was so self-absorbed) and i definitely liked his friend group. i enjoyed seeing a group of young (late teen) boys of color and their friendship. those interactions were probably the best part of the book for me. This book is one that I would definitely read. I like the internal monologue, as well as all the descriptions for the readers' benefit in the parenthesis. I also like how in the first chapter everything is going perfect for our main character, and how it ends with the news article. This book reads like the inner mind of a teenager, which means the author did a great job of capturing the right voice. I'm a huge fan of the cover, the drawing of the two main characters sitting on the subway with the city in the background is a great cover. This kind of simple but still semi-detailed is one of my favorite types of covers. However, I do think the blurb at the beginning could be a little different because based on the cover, I don't think I would buy this book. The content was great though! ( )

You don’t know how much fun it is to read a light-hearted book about two black teens. I like the humor here and the New York setting.

The main character Evie is an aspiring actress and the granddaughter of a Diana-Ross-type legend, Evelyn Conaway, who makes a huge mistake in a moment of drunken bliss. Evie’s meant to be annoying, so her attitude and actions in the story might really turn some readers off. I didn’t mind her, so I rate this book highly.

I loved the message of forgiveness and that you have a choice of whether or not to allow someone back into your life. Milo was a sweet male lead, and I was super interested in Gigi’s life.

Also, I enjoyed Milo’s friends! Those fools!
