A good deal of the charm arises from the Discworld itself. There are a number of bits from this world book that I have used as a DM. I'm glad Mr. Pratchett has also found a way to cash in on his excellent creation. ( )

Somewhere... There is a flat, circular world which rests on the backs of four elephants, which in turn stand on the back of a giant turtle, which swims through space. (introduction)
The Discworld is rather strange, even by the standards of fantasy settings.

The people of the Sto Plains consider themselves to be the most sophisticated on the Disc, because they have been civilised longest and have the most advanced technology (except for the Agateans, who are foreigners, and who therefore don't count), the best travelled (except for certain Hubland barbarians, who can't count), and the most broad-minded (except when dealing with foreigners, barbarians, and people who quibble).
Quirm is not merely dull, but devoted to the idea of dullness; many of the inhabitants used to have adventures, and have consciously given that up. People go there to die, on the basis that after a few years in Quirm death won't offer many surprises.

Edge Entertainment publishes the Spanish version of GURPS Discworld. So did UBIK regarding the French version.
Apparently UBIK has since merged with Edge, and while both versions are still published by Edge, both books claim the same IBSN.
