But there were so many things that made me roll my eyes into the galaxy and beyond.
First, this is nothing new in the second chance romance subgenre even though it's not a sub- whatever, you get it. I've seen this plot multiple times, so it didn't give anything new.
The angst was good but also meh - yes, i do recognize the heroine was hurt by the hero when they were 17 - but good lord you're thirty now, can you act like one? Thankfully that was resolved after a bit of cringy fighting in the rain.
I just felt.. nothing. I am used to K.A. Tucker making me emotional and sobbing at 2am while bingereading her books, and it didn't happen here? I was just frustated at the hero, at the heroine, at the red devil, at the heroine's mother, at the red devil's mother, at basically everything except the hero's son who was so sweet and made me smile.
The writing was still amazing and it's so easy to read it all in one sitting but I still don't know what to feel about this book. I preferred much more [b:Say You Still Love Me|42201435|Say You Still Love Me|K.A. I don't want to say I'm disappointed but I didn't love it either. ( )
