This might be one of my favorites from this author. For months now I have been following this author on social media. In that time, I have come to appreciate her humor and charm. There is just something special about how authentic that she is. The reason I am even bringing this up is because that authenticity and charm carries over to her characters. Especially, in this case, this story and these characters.

When I first heard about this book, I was unaware that these two had a previous short story about them. This worked in my favor because I came into this often wondering about Blaire from the Gibson series. I was offered a clean slate and fresh perspective to see her and Holt as the navigated everything from trust, opening up, and eventually how to see more than work. It also was a great way to introduce a new series about five brothers, with the first being Holt to get his story.

If you have read anything by this author, then you know that she creates amazing books based with the common denominator being family. This continues with this one and has a great rapport between the characters. She gives just enough tidbits about the other characters that leave me yearning for their story as soon as possible.

I really appreciated Blaire in this one and watching her finally open up to Sienna as well as Holt. It was nice to see her vulnerability. I also enjoyed seeing Holt hold his own against this wicked smart independent woman. He had a delicious mouth. He, too, also offered a vulnerable side to them. I am glad that this author took the time to create a full story because I am not sure if the Gibson series would have been complete without giving a voice to Blaire.

I am looking forward to more from these brothers, and hopefully the cousin Larisa too.
