Delightful. A series of portraits of senior citizens in six Chinatowns across North America (San Francisco; Oakland; Los Angeles; Chicago; New York; Vancouver, Canada) with vignettes about their lives or just the experience of running into these stylish seniors. In the author's note at the end, they note that 90% of people they approached declined to be photographed, so this is really the tip of the iceberg when it comes to poh-poh and gung-gung fashion! Though in many cases, outfits aren't thoughtfully chosen- it's what they've accumulated throughout their lives, or gifts from friends, or just a very practical set of layers against the weather.

Chinatowns across North America are in danger of being gentrified, so this is a really sweet capsule of who lives there and and who will be most impacted by changes in rent, housing costs, etc. ( )
