It had crimes mentioned that the author covered that I was dying to look more into, but unfortunately as he mentioned in the beginning, he had to change some things for privacy reasons...Has a very 1980's feel to it, which isn't a bad thing, I enjoyed reading about how things were done a few decades ago. I learned what a "farebeat" and a "token-sucker" are. I don't live in a huge city, so that was new to me. It is a bit bogged down in some parts, where I just skimmed thru. ( ) Rough Justice by David Heilbroner Depending on your own view points of the justice system, you will either find his description of being a district attorney compelling or you wont. You will either view him as a an insightful, sophisticated attorney or a cynical, true believer who becomes disappointed with actually practicing law and sees everything through that lens. I tend to think the latter description is more accurate. It seems to me like he has tunnel vision and an agenda from day one as a prosecutor. He portrays himself as someone who becomes disillusioned with the system the longer he stays in it, but he strikes me as someone who enters the system with some strong opinions about its deficits from day one. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
