S G Blaise wrote her first short story at the age of ten, and at the age of thirteen she picked up her first book to read. This is where she her passion for books began, but it wasn’t until many years later whilst on a road trip through Europe that S.G. Blaise had the “Lightbulb moment” and began to write her debut novel The Last Lumenian. It was on this trip that she came up with the ideas and inspiration for the characters behind the story and her life changed forever!

The Last Lumenian is the story of a young princess who’s life is already mapped out for her as the King’s daughter. Her duties and responsibilities are of no interest to her and she ends up becoming a part of the rebellion fighting along side the refugees until one day she finds herself tangled in a brewing intergalactic war. This leaves her with no choice but to embrace who she is and accept her duties as the King’s daughter and fight for freedom.

This was a wonderfully imaginative book that had everything needed for an enjoyable read: romance, mystery, action, and magic, with a strong female lead who battles and survives against the odds. It was fast-paced and I found it easy to follow, perfectly written, with great character development. I was so invested in the story that I didn’t want it to end. I’m wondering when the next one will be released, and I’m definitely looking forward to more from this author. Her imagination is amazing! ( )

This story was a wonderful weaving of sci-fi and a little romance. The world is so rich and well-developed, if you told me I could step through a portal into Lilla's world, I wouldn't be shocked (and I just might walk through it too)! The characters are all completely believable, and quite unique. I absolutely fell in love with Lilla and her fighting spirit, and her need to fight the injustices that unfortunately populate her home. Fans of both sci-fi and romance will find something to love in this unique, engaging story. ( )

The writing is very descriptive. Coupled with the fact that you’re reading from the character’s point of view, you feel like you’re in Lila’s shoes as she experiences the events of the story. You also get to see her thought processes “first-hand.”

The story hadn’t gotten to too much plot or lore yet, but I’m intrigued. From the description, it sounds like it’s mixing sci-fi with fantasy / mythology. It’s also a bonus to read a book like this from a female heroine’s perspective. So many of the other adventure novels feature a male lead. ( )

A fantasy story that hooked me from the cover, just to get a picture of what’s inside and then diving into it puts so much into perspective and made me aware of the place this story is created. I truly enjoyed this one, I read a lot of fantasy and this one really hooks you from the start. ( )
