The book is divided into twelve chapters, includes an appendix of Freud’s major works, and a bibliography with marked materials for young readers, and a list of websites (including a URL for the Library of Congress that shows movie footage of Freud between 1929 and 1937). Chapter one introduces readers to Sigmund Freud, also known to his mother as “My Golden Sig.” The other chapters depict his adult life, including a chapter about Freud’s reasoning regarding the need to use cocaine to help patients. He is depicted as an egocentric, yet caring man, who loved his family and truly wanted to understand the human mind to help his patients. Great addition to a MS library. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Before Freud, nobody discussed "unconscious" motives, Oedipal complexes, the id and the ego, or Freudian slips. Freud was a complicated, often irascible man, who in 19th-century Vienna developed his still-controversial ideas and the new discipline of psychoanalysis. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
