Onderdeel van de reeks(en)Sabine Valley (2)
Seven Brothers. Seven Brides. A revenge seven years in the making. I never wanted any part of my family's revenge, but no one asked my opinion when my oldest brother handed out the Brides during Lammas. Now I'm saddled with Monroe, heir to the Amazon clan. She's as deadly as she is sarcastic, and nothing like the woman I really want. Shiloh. My best friend. The night Monroe and I consummate our handfasting is like nothing I've experienced before. It's dark and brutal and intoxicating in a way I'm not prepared for. Which means it can never happen again. But now, every time I turn around, I find Monroe and Shiloh together. She's spitefully seducing my best friend, the woman I truly want, and there's not a damn thing I can do about it. I can't have one without the other, but letting Monroe close might mean I lose myself completely. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

It looks like Sabine Valley seems to be the land of the throuple. Where book 1 was full of masculinity and testosterone, book 2 really flips the script and gives us two very different and yet equally complex women to dive into, along with our second Paine brother, Broderick. Where Abel is the head and the strength of the family, Broderick has become the caregiver and it definitely weighs on him (he gives me Brock vibes from the early Pokemon series, in need of his own adventure). Monroe is the heir to the Amazons and has the strength and tenacity that one would expect from such a title. And then we have Shiloh, a true trauma baby that provides no shortage of plot twists to keep the other two both entertained and full of sexual tension.
The dynamic of these three characters sort of mirrors Wicked Villains 5 (Sea Witch) in a lot of ways, but also improved on it for me. I liked the individual characters more than WV5 so I was able to enjoy the group dynamic more in this story as well. Book two was a strong addition to the Sabine Valley series and now I’m looking forward to Cohen (book 3). ( )
