These 55 rules are unlikely to be implemented by any other teachers, but no one will disagree that teaching kids manners and respect is something too often overlooked, and thus may be worth a quick scan, if nothing else. Much more valuable are the "tips for teachers" at the end of the book, which includes a good system for establishing discipline in class. ( )

Mr. Clark offers some helpful tips and advice. I certainly took down a few notes that I will use, but overall a very cornball read . . . a little too reminiscent of Norman Vincent Peale and his "power of positive thinking." ( )

I really liked this book. Though I did not completely agree with all of his rules ( I think the Doritos one is kind of stupid) , I did like a great many of them. He makes the reading fun and really interesting. I hope that once I start teaching I can use some of his ideas as well as be as easy going as he seems to be. ( )

I think that his success isn't easily duplicated or copied by anyone else, as his success seems to come from his charisma & dedication, along with his particular circumstances. This book wasn't really that helpful, but of course he is an amazing teacher. ( )

55 Rules to live by not just in the classroom but life as well. Now granted some of these rules might not work for you but I believe many will. My advice is take what you need and disregard the rest. ( )
