Ignored Heroes of World War II The Manhattan Project Workers of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, by Richard Cook (read 23 Nov 2021) This book was published in 2015 and is a compilation of comments by people who worked or were involved in the work re the atomic bomb. Many people worked at the new town of Oak Ridge in 1943 and after but few knew what was being done there--until August 6, 1945, when the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Surprisingly, I found the book of considerable interest, though many of the comments by folk are jejune and non-profound. The secrecy enforced was pretty well effective at least as to Oak Ridge. I read on 13 May 1990 The Making of the Atomic Bomb, by Richard Rhodes, which was the best book I read that year, and is the only book in this book's bibliography which I have read--but there are only 13 books in said bibliography.
