Author Susan Hood spends a lot of time at the ocean walking her dog, sailing, swimming, kayaking and scuba diving among other things. She wrote this book after becoming discouraged by the amount of plastic she was seeing while doing some of her favorite things. Hood starts us off with where we might be surprised to find plastic using an ABC poem. Most pages continue poetic in verse. Hood highlights children across the world who have chosen to take on the issue of plastic pollution by collecting and creating something useful from it.
