This is one of those books, that from the first paragraph sucks me on. I live for finding those kinds of books. This book was a lot to handle but trust me when I say everything; from the gritty violence, to the flashbacks, and to the present connections was worth it. I liked that this came full circle with Arson and Callum. I think having their stories made a difference in this book. It took me a minute before I had that lightbulb moment before I realized how Santiago was tied to them. I lost sight of it when the talk of the Four Horseman group came about. It really solidified the story, in my opinion. The characters in this book were INTENSE and I loved every minute of this connection. Even though the story started a little brisk between Briseis and Santiago, it was amazing. The chemistry was there, The steam in this one almost melted my kindle. I was a little fearful that the fast love connection would be cheesy but it wasn't. so, despite the violence being a tad gory, everything else fell perfectly in place. It made the story more authenticate in my opinion. I need the next story ASAP. Not sure who it will be. I thought it would be Remi and his New York fascination but a pretty big bombshell was dropped about Florian, so it could be anyone's game at this point. Highly recommend, this suspense-filled, dreams of revenge and retribution, and a strong story of love made this my favorite book of this author to date. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

… and Santiago sure delivered when it came to his and Briseis pleasures!
This was a far more enjoyable read than ‘The Land Where Sinners Atone’. It was surprisingly steamy and I loved how Briseis threw away her good girl image and submitted to her desires. It had all the elements V.F Mason is known for in all her serial killer romance: dark twisted characters, old faces that make reappearances who also contribute to the storyline, hot and heavy chemistry and the perfect amount of romantic suspense that has drawn you to the pages.
Now the wait begins for one of the other Four Horsemen (Remi, Florian, and Octavius) to claim their women so I look forward to how their story unfolds.
