„Denk dir 100 Menschen“ ist ein Sachbuch für Kinder. Es erzählt viel über Menschen: Wie viele es gibt, wo sie leben und wie sie leben, wie sie sich unterscheiden und vieles mehr. Es leben zwar ungefähr acht Milliarden Menschen auf der Erde, doch werden die Informationen hier anteilig auf hundert Menschen verteilt und machen die Zahlen anschaulich. Dabei werden auch die Probleme auf dieser Welt angesprochen, wie Zugang zu sauberem Wasser, Armut und Bildung.
Die Texte sind sehr informativ und werden durch Grafiken und Bilder deutlicher gemacht. Die Illustrationen finde ich sehr ansprechend. Dies alles regt dazu an, mit den Kindern Gespräche zu führen, denn vieles ist angerissen und kann durchaus vertieft werden.
Dieses Buch ist nicht nur für Kinder interessant, sondern auch für Erwachsene.
Mir hat das Buch gefallen und ich möchte es weiterempfehlen. ( )

"It's tricky to picture 8,000,000,000 people, so instead, let's imagine the whole planet is a village where 100 people live..."

In this imagined global village, each person represents about 80 million people; "if we focus on 100 people, it's easier to see the things we have in common and the things that make us different." Those things include gender, age, hair and eye and skin color, location/geography, whether people have a safe home or enough to eat or clean water, literacy, access to electricity, what language people speak, connection to the internet, and amount of wealth. The final page concentrates on some big questions; a list of sources is included on the copyright page.

A fantastic visual tool for readers of any age; lots to think about, but a just-right amount of information is not overwhelming. ( )
