I recieved this book through Library Thing Early Reviewers. I had a love hate relationship with this book! To me it felt so predictable, but I fell so in love with the characters I just couldn't put it down! I would definitely read more books by this author. Even though I thought it was predictable the book was pretty great! ( )

I have to say that I was a little disappointed with this book. The plot was decent, as was the writing, but I just couldn't bring myself to like the characters, which is what killed it for me. The main character, Kenna, particularly drove me crazy! I found her to be shallow, selfish, and a total cry baby. I really wanted to feel bad for her, but her attitude just made that impossible. On the other hand, I did enjoy her mother's character, even if she was barely in the story. The other characters were all quite bland and uninteresting to me.

Not a bad read, but definitely not a great read either. I see promise in the author's writing, however, and would definitely be interested in trying something else she's written. Hopefully with a better leading lady next time. ( )

I received this book through Library Thing Early Reviewers. I really did not enjoy it. The main character, Kenna, is en route to Hawaii with her boy friend when the plane crashes and she is the sole survivor. The main theme is Kenna's remorse and struggle to overcome her loss. As a secondary theme, it develops that Derrick, her boy friend, is an assassin employed by an extremely secretive and powerful organization, known as "The Organization" whose members include police, judges, politicians, and important business members. Kenna decides that the only way she can recover from her loss of Derrick is to obtain a flash drive which contains all the organizational, financial and operating information about the organization and which is always in the possession of the organization's primary boss. Un believeably, there just happens to be an opening for the job as the boss's private secretary, which Kenna finds out about, applies for and get the job.
Through a series of equally hard to believe events, Kenna and her associates obtain the flash drive, turn it over to the "CIA". As the book ends, she marries the police detective with whom she fell in love during her escapades and they all live happily everafter. I had a very hard time getting through the book. There was very little interesting in the plot, which was hard to believe and was made more difficult by Kenna"s extended and continuous carrying on about the depth of her loss of her boy friend. ( )

Very well written short mystery and suspense! I instantly fell in love with the characters and started routing for Kenna to heal and find peace in light of her tragic loss. I look forward to more books from this author. ( )

Did Not Finish at 25%. I wasn't able to connect with the main character at all. She was selfish and immature, despite her situation. I knew from the beginning it was going to be tough to get into, but I pushed through for a little bit. I skimmed some of the middle and end, noticing that the writing could use a little refinement. I know this book has many five star reviews, but it just wasn't for me.
