You never know when you might be trapped in a glaze event... Two is for You follows an extremely handsome and young software developer's rise to prominence after inventing the world's first automated answering service. There's just one problem: Marco Salazar forgot to include numero dos for Español. As the vicious, unrelenting and unprecedented Winter Storm Wanda envelops New York and circles around Marco, details from his past strike at the heart of perception and identity in these heartless and competitive times. I am in two minds about this book. Due to tense issues at times it felt like I was reading script directions rather than a novel which distracted me from the story.

I liked the way that the book shifted from the past to the present. It was a good way to develop the characters. However, I did not find the characters very believable or very likeable. Marco Salazar, the main character, seemed to have conflicting personality traits that did not leave me convinced he could be a real person. I felt that his background did not explain why he became a vacuous, vain, unfaithful, pretty boy. For me, Mark Salaznek was a person of strong character and the man he became, Marco Salazar, was a person of weak character rather than a man of strong character who had done wrong which he should have been. The story would have then had more of a point and I would have had more sympathy for the character.

The storytelling is good and the book held my interest throughout. The author confronts serious issues and deals with them well.

Despite its issues, it is clear that the author is very talented and I look forward to seeing more from this writer. ( )

Two is for You is a very readable story and held my interest all the way through. Not the sort of story I would usually pick up, but I'm glad I got a chance to sample the author's talent. The descriptions were well-done and give the reader a very visual sense of the story. That said, I'm not sure I ever got the point. Is it that the bad situations in our childhood follow us throughout the rest of our lives? Also, some of the scenes such as when the caretaker meets Marco seem too much like a young man's fantasy, but I can see where it sets a possibility for further scenes later into the story.

All in all, I'll be looking forward to seeing more from the author. ( )

I won this book in LibraryThing's early reviewer program. It was an enjoyable read for me.

This book is about a young and very successful software engineer who left his past life and lives under a new name.

Each chapter happens either in present or past and by each one we find out more about Marco Salazar and the how he became the man he is now and how his past affects and shadows his current life.

I really liked the way the book is written and characters are introduced. This book is one of those you want to go further to see what happens. ( )
