A wonderful retelling for children of the biblical story of Daniel in the den of lions. There's humor, beautiful and bright colors, and a simple message. Just great all the way around. ( )

This story is retelling the story of Daniel getting thrown in the lion’s den by some troublemakers and was excepted to be eaten alive. However, God sent an angel to shut the lion’s mouths so they wouldn’t eat him and they obeyed. I like how the author gave a note at the beginning of the book to the children letting them know that this is a real story in The Bible. But she just retold it using her imagination and making assumptions since the Bible didn’t explain everything. I also like how at the very bottom of each page, she has little ants commenting on the story with their questions and curiosity. I thought that was very creative. This book is very good for younger kids to get to know the different Bible stories and how God performed amazing miracles. ( )
