"I Walk and Read" is a book of photographs taken around the city. The photographs in this book include those of street signs, words on different vehicles and words painted on the street. I think the concept for this book is that even if you are not reading a book, you are still ready everyday. We may not be aware of it but this book can help us see how many signs and things we notice or read. ( ) This was a picture book of words you see during a walk in the city. Examples are "bus", "restaurant", "one way", "no dogs allowed", "big sale", "museum entrance". The theme is that even if we don't pick up a book everyday, we are still reading everyday. Reading is so important because it navigates us through life and especially during a walk in the city. If I were to present this book to my students I would ask them what words did they see on the way to school and what would happen if we couldn't read those words.
