This book features real life photos of everyday objects that teaches young children different shapes. This is perfect for preschoolers to first graders. ( ) This is the first wordless book I have read this semester and it spoke the message in such a powerful way. Words would have hindered this book. The idea that circles and squares are in most of our every day objects and items we see. The most interesting one to me was the picture of the waffle. I never thought of a waffle as a circle with tiny squares inside. I will definitely see more circles and squares every day because of this book. I will use this book in my classroom to show the real life examples of squares and circles. This book does not have any words but the pictures speak for it. You notice that circles and squares are everywhere in your everyday life. There are shapes everywhere that you may not always notice until you examine your surroundings. This would be a great book for young readers that are just learning shapes, or for all readers to be able to recognize all the shapes in the pictures. A fun activity to pair with this book would be a scavenger hunt and let students try and find different shapes at school or at home. The illustrations are bright and vivid keeping the readers attention. Since the pictures are so real readers would start noticing more shapes in their everyday life. Young children love to find the circles and squares in this book without words. They can "read" the book themselves. The quality photography is a pleasure for all ages. With no text, the book becomes interactive when you talk about the pictures with the children. This lets them be more active participants. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
