What happens the moment we become His advocates and devotees is that we immediately lose the identities we possess of this earthly world and have our identities in our Lord. The new identity we now possess is becoming a member of His body, the church.
We can find evidence of this when we read JOHN 1:11-13 [NKJV]:
[11] He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
[12] But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
[13] who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
And in 1 JOHN 3:1-2 [NLT], we have:
[1] See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.
[2] Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is.
At the end of the description of this book, the author writes:
“Everything begins and ends with God’s promises. God always keeps His promises. That’s because of His patience, faithfulness, and unconditional love. Let these promises be the cornerstone and foundation of your life.”
The key to our transformation in the eyes of the Lord has always been and will always be the acceptance of our Lord. This includes claiming His promises and our belief in them and Him. The collection of the 365 promises the author has compiled in this book needs to be read as daily affirmations, attesting to their truth and our belief in them.
For wanting to transform the lives of his readers by claiming the Lord’s promises, being the nondenominational Christian woman I’ve become in the past 2 ½ years, and my experiences, I’ve given Rev. Harris D. McFarlane 5 STARS for this book.
