This book would be good for primary students. This book is "Remember" by Joy Harjo, illustrated by Michaela Goade, and published in 2023. This book is a poem that reminds young readers to pause and reflect on the world around them. It brings in the culture of the Mvskoke Nation that we are connected to the earth and that we should cherish life. I think this would be a good book to have in a classroom just for independent reading to introduce people to other culture and to have a wide representation of cultures.

Remember is a picture book that's a poem about wondering about the world and where you came from. The readers are invited into the illustrations and language to ponder the origins of life and how we're all connected. I thought the illustrations were absolutely gorgeous! The way the illustrator made the art was fantastic and it blew me away.

I liked this book as well, but for certain scenarios. If I taught at a Christian school, I wouldn't use this book in my classroom, only because it centers around a creation/life worldview that is conflictive of ours as Christians. But, if I taught in public school, I would definitely use this book because it's truly very beautiful and I think children would love it.

Michaela Goade's gorgeous artwork, Joy Harjo's poem. I especially love the illustration that accompanies the lines, "Remember your birth, how your mother / struggled to give you form and breath. // You are evidence of her life, / and her mother's, and hers." ( )

this book would be great for intermediate and middle school students. This book is a poem about how you should remember all aspects of life like the moon, sunrise, and animals because they all make up life in general. I really like this book because of the gorgeous illustrations and message, but I would have older kids read it because the poem may be confusing for younger students

This is a poem of words that sparkle with exquisite illustrations, calling the reader to remember the wonders of the world and their impact on us.
The poem is written by U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo, and the stunning illustrations by Michaela Goade a Caldecott Medal winner.

We are called to remember the sky that we were born under and to know each of the star's, the moon, the sun, the sundown, your parents, the earth which includes plants, trees, animal life and tribes, families and the history contained in them.

This is a call to embrace the world and all that it contains, and to remember "the universe is you."

FIVE STARS
