Summary:
Froggy Plays T-Ball is about a little boy frog who is playing in his first T-ball game.His dad is his coach and he reminds him before the game to run the bases in order. Even though Froggy's dad tried to help him Froggy keeps making silly little mistakes and misunderstanding. However, by the end of the game Froggy is super excited when he hits a home-run.

Personal Reaction:
I enjoyed this book but it is probably not a book I would read over again because it did not really peak my interest. However this would be a good book to introduce literary elements with.

Classroom Extensions:
1.)Introduce the students to Onomatopoeia using examples from the story, "He wound up and swung-whack!" (pg.1) and then ask the students to provide you with a list of other examples of onomatopoeia.
2.) Ask the students to find a book from the library that has examples of Onomatopoeia and then share the book with the class.
3.) Have the student create their own illustration page for a story, using the same characters and plot or different, with examples onomatopoeia included in the picture. Comic book style pictures. ( )

I would use this book as a read-aloud for first grade. The students can relate to Froggy because they are about the same age and might be trying out a new sport or activity. This would be good for a read aloud because it's better for the students to hear the onomatopoeia than to just read them.

I picked this book because I like the Froggy books and so do most students. For this book, I would have students write about a time they weren't good at something but with practice they got batter. ( )

Fun book to read for a first timer to T-ball! Gives a whole new meaning to "shagging flies"! And a very different twist to the Giants/Dodgers rivalry! ( )
