I received a copy of this book through the ARC program in exchange for an honest review.
Like most short story collections, there were some that were better than others. There were some that I especially liked, there were none that I really disliked and just wanted over with. That's a big plus. I liked the theme of the book and the very individual ways the authors gave shape to the theme. The only thing that disappointed me was that some of the stories seemed to end abruptly. I would be invested in the story and then it would be over. Just like that. And I felt I needed more, the story didn't feel finished.
Anyway, it's a nice, quick read and I always find short story collections are a great snack in between full books. ( )
A slim volume of short pieces about people at or in difficult places in their lives and how they cope. There are 10 stories here and one or two are memorable though they seem not to be as you read. The predicaments and situations are more important than the characters and the writing is somewhat so what. ( )
