This book is a lot of fun as its about a bunch of boys who got sent off to a detention camp and as a punishment they have to dig lots of holes in a dried up lake, only to find an adventure unlike any other.
This book is perfect for middle schoolers as it teaches them about teamwork and also friendship and what that is supposed to look like.

This book is great for middle schoolers because it is a mystery novel that draws the reader into solving a mystery and keeps the reader on the edge of their seats as they follow along. It can even be used to talk about different concepts of math and why they are important to know, while still being entertaining. ( )
