Kevin has had a crush on his best mate's dad for years but never thought anything could come of it, until it does.

Garrett has been noticing Kevin and his attractiveness more and more but he would never jeopardise his relationship with his kids or subject Kevin to the long hours he spends on the road - until he does.

I haven't read the earlier books in the series and I wasn't particularly expecting much of this, so it was a pleasant surprise to find a decent story with a fair amount of depth. The love story is sickly sweet with a tonne of heat but this also tackles issues of anxiety, ignorance, sexuality and acceptance.

I'm not sure I really felt Kevin and Garrett were well suited to each other, they were a bit bland to be honest but I did like that they were sweet and kind to each other and did their best to look after one another. It felt like a good relationship, just maybe not very convincing as a forever love one.

I liked the small town and the quirky cast they had. There were some funny parts and I liked that Darren ended up sucking up his problems to support his dad and friend.

A sugary sweet and steamy m/m age gap romance that also decently explores issues of anxiety, ignorance, sexuality and acceptance. 2.5 stars rounded to 3 stars. ( )

Kevin and Garretts story has been simmering along in peeks in previous books and it's wonderful!

The worries they have over who they are, the job Garrett has, the age gap is all mentioned and this adds depth and realness to the characters.
